This was an assignment from an Anthropology class for Lisa Cooke. It was an Indigenous focused course and for this assignment I wrote a paper about clean drinking water on reserves and how this is portrayed in the media. This assignment has impacted my teaching and learning because it is important to me as a future educator to advocate for equity and justice. Reflecting on this assignment, it taught me a lot about how the media portrays Indigenous people and how important it is to educate future generations. It is important to me to honour Indigenous perspectives in academic and education discussions.
